Inspiration:
Adonis was one of four pieces commissioned by Harrowgate Flower Show as part of the Spring Show in 2023.
The original paintings were around A2 size and very purposely are full of colour and texture as the commission itself required them to be blown up large-scale and so every detail would be on show!
Drawing upon my textile design background, I used layers of paint and dynamic splashes of colour across the canvas to create an energetic artwork as an interpretation of the beauty of flowers as they burst into bloom.
