Inspiration:
Harrowgate Flower Show commissioned me to produce a number of abstract floral arworks and Anemone was one of the final pieces to go on display at the Spring Show in 2023.
Working with the knowledge that the images would be blown up to a huge scale I very purposefully made these artworks colourful and full of texture, so that every flick and gesture of paint would be captured in detail.

I reflected upon my textile design experience, using layer upon layer of paint, with splashes of colour and spritzing the paint across the canvas to create energetic dynamic bursts to try and interpret the beauty and life of flowers as they burst into bloom.
